Mission

Nottingham Stop the War is committed to ending the occupation of Iraq by all foreign parties and to lobbying to allow the Iraqi people to democratically own and control their own resources for their own benefit.

To this end we are organising, supporting and appearing events, protests and meetings to highlight the plight of Iraqis, to educate the people about the causes of war in general, about the scramble for oil and its polluting effects on the environment, the geopolitical goals of the global powers. To bring to the peoples' attention those who face poverty, starvation and disease whilst billions of dollars are spent on the arms industry, to lobby against the erosion of our civil liberties, and to persuade our Government to withdraw our troops and all occupying forces from Iraq and other countries immediately.
